LOCATION HUNTING // AN OUTING

How to find a great location.  I always wondered how photographers online had breathtaking images. One of the key elements to a shoot is the location. I start by getting into the car or subway ( depending on where I am ). Most of the time through out the week I always keep an eye out the window for anything that catches my eye.

Most places I love are forgotten homes or buildings that are falling apart. I find them really romantic and dreamy. "I always find beauty in things that are odd and imperfect, they are much more interesting" - Marc Jacobs. Marc Jacobs is right places that are broken or odd are wonderful to shoot. The other upside is now matter how many times you shot there your always going to get different shots.

I'll drive to those places first to check them out to see if they have any potential, 60% percent of the time I wont end up even liking the place or being able to get into the front gate. The other 40% I find somewhere I really like and take out my camera to take a few shots of the area so I can review them later.  A few tips. Be safe. Always look before you step. If your like me and love old abandoned places you really need to you never know where your stepping you could end up with a dead animal, a nail or even in boo on/ in your shoes. Always be respectful. Never take anything that doesn't belong to you. I used to look online for places but I never really found any I liked or they were a hike to get to.

I find the best thing to do is just to keep looking every time you go on a drive. This place I found today as I was driving around. I didn't think anything of it I had stopped at a few places with no luck. I walk up a long path to a eroding victorian house. I looked back to find a breathtaking view of Caledon. I fell and that's when I knew I loved this location. I hope you enjoyed the shots. I know shoe shots are so over done, but my feet got so wet. I think my toms are on there last legs need to buy some new ones.
